Dutch Bike Ride: Pitt Meadows

August 11 @ 9:30 am - 1:00 pm

Our next bike ride is Sunday August 11, 10am, starting in Pitt Meadows, with lunch in Port Coquitlam.

RSVP by email to Aryan aryansaed(Replace this parenthesis with the @ sign)gmail.com, for our MEETING POINT and other route & lunch details (it changes every year). Headcount is needed for lunch reservations.

You will receive a confirmation email with the meeting details by Friday August 9.

With spectacular views of rivers, mountains and vast farm fields on all sides (SEE PHOTO BELOW), this ride is easy, flat and suitable for all ages. Major portions of the route are on dedicated gravel-paved dyke trails, and are well isolated from car traffic.

Our ride starts near the Alouette River in Pitt Meadows. The Outbound leg is just under 20Km, and it takes us along the banks of the Alouette River and the Pitt River to the Pitt River Bridge, from where you’ll have a spectacular view into the valleys surrounding Pitt Lake.

For those wanting to keep it a bit shorter, there are a few opportunities to branch off early and head directly to our lunch spot. I will be happy to provide you with directions.

The bridge crossing for cyclists and pedestrians is a gentle climb in a barricaded lane, and it is well separated from other traffic. Once over the Bridge we will be in Port Coquitlam, where we bike a portion of the Traboulay Trail, and then continue on paved roads to our lunch stop.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Tot gauw,
Aryan
