Dutch Bike Ride – Barnston Island

BARNSTON ISLAND BIKE RIDE
The next bike ride event will take on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Barnston Island, Surrey, BC.

Hosts: Adriana Zylmans, president of the Netherlands Association Je Maintiendrai – Dutch Network and Bruce Melville will be your cycling hosts.
Time: we will meet at 10:30 am at the Ferry Terminal Parking Lot for an 11:00 am departure by ferry to Barnston Island.
Parking: Free parking is available at the Ferry Terminal Parking Lot.
Length of Bike Ride: the distance is a 10 km loop around the Island. We expect to make two loops around the Island; estimating a 20 km bike ride.
Lunch: please bring a picnic lunch as there are no restaurants nearby and/or on the Island. We will meet in Surrey Bend Regional Park for the picnic after the bike ride. The Surrey Bend Regional Park is adjacent to the Ferry Terminal Parking Lot. Participants can leave their picnic lunch in the car until after the bike ride.
Directions: The Ferry Terminal is located at the East end of 104 Ave. in Surrey.
Travelling via the Port Mann Bridge from Vancouver on Highway No. 1, take the Exit identified as Highway 17 and turn left. Travel over the freeway overpass and along Highway 17 until you reach 104 Ave. Turn right at 104 Ave and cross over the railway tracks and travel to the end of 104 Ave.
Travelling from Abbotsford on Highway No. 1, take the Exit identified as Highway 17. Travel along Highway 17 until you reach 104 Ave. Turn right at 104 Ave. and cross over the railway tracks and travel to the end of 104 Ave.
