Richmond / Steveston Bike Ride
Saturday, June 16th 2018: The Dutch Biking Club will ride in southwest Richmond. Peter and Barbara will be there to greet everyone at 10:00am at the Garry Point Park parking lot (west of Steveston village) near the concession stand. (Between Chatham and Moncton Street on 7th Avenue) Parking is free. The ride will start at 10:30am and will follow the dyke north on a good hard-packed gravel surface until No. 2 Road. We will cross the No. 2 Road bridge and follow the Fraser River Arm west to the Flying Beaver Restaurant for lunch. We return via the same route. Enjoy beautiful views of Vancouver and the Georgia Straight along saltwater marshes. “Dutchies” of course show their pride in their heritage by wearing the color “Oranje” and it will keep you safe on the road as well. Peter and Barbara will send out an e-mail reminder about 3 days before the event. If this bike trip needs to be cancelled due to poor weather conditions we will re-schedule for June 17th, same time, same place. In event of cancellation only, Peter will notify everyone (on his e-mail list) on Saturday June 16th at 8.30am in the morning. So make sure he has your e-mail address. Peter will ask you to sign a liability waiver in the parking lot just before the ride begins.
